KHI Adopts Autodesk Digital Prototyping Software for Better Electrical Controls in Industrial Robots

Autodesk, an innovator in 3D design, entertainment and engineering software, has declared that Autodesk Digital Prototyping software has been adopted by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) in order to design electrical controls for industrial robots.

Autodesk tools will be deployed in KHI’s Robot Division, where it will enhance the efficacy and productivity of design work, thereby strengthening the relationship between partners, teams, and global customers.

While expanding its industrial robot business across the world, KHI anticipates creating a design workflow with maximum efficiency that will ensure higher productivity. KHI has also adopted Autodesk’s Digital Prototyping solution, AutoCAD Electrical that will enable designing and producing electrical systems and circuits.

AutoCAD Electrical was opted by KHI due to the following features:

  • AutoCAD Electrical offers efficient production of drawings for electrical control design by using automatic circuit generation as well as component and circuit transferability.
  • AutoCAD Electrical facilitates automatic report generation, thereby avoiding interference and duplication in drawings and more optimized works for component aggregation.
  • AutoCAD Electrical operates on the AutoCAD platform, besides electrical design capabilities for simple exchange of data with partners and global customers.
  • AutoCAD Electrical ensures management of multiple drawings in a project, where major information will be updated in a single step.

Besides employing AutoCAD Electrical, the KHI Robot Division also uses various Autodesk software packages for temporary industrial robot design such as drafting software, AutoCAD software and AutoCAD Mechanical design.
