Cybernetics Professor Predicts Future of Brain-Bots

Kevin Warwick, Professor of Cybernetics at the University of Reading, has predicted that Brain-bots (robots with in-built human brains) could be in our homes within a span of ten years.

Warwick has been performing research activities in the areas of robotics, biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence and control. Along with his research team he has already built a robot which utilizes rat brain cells to explore its nearby areas and avoid colliding with objects lying along its path.

According to the professor, this technology could emerge rapidly and his research outcomes will help in exploring Alzheimer’s disease and other types of cognitive and intellectual deteriorations.
