PIAP’s New Robotics System Can Support Security and Rescue Operations

Poland’s Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurement (PIAP), the most recent joint venture target of Quantum International, is developing an advanced team of robots that can assist emergency responders, police, and other personnel in hazardous security and rescue operations. Robocop are expected to be critical allies in the $5 T war on terror.

Proteus is a new potential project which is being realized by a group of Poland’s well-established science centers directed by PIAP. The designed system consists of three multi-functional, autonomous robots leveraged by unmanned aircraft and a mobile command center. This forms a proficient team that can carry out complex missions.

According to Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz, the 21st Century includes hazardous crises such as violent weather systems, terrorist plots, industrial disasters that have to be tackled by first responders and law enforcement personnel. Proteus system from PIAP is a novel technological solution that enables efficient, safe and cost-effective mission operation in dangerous and challenging environments. This innovation promotes global development and commercialization of the system.

Proteus is PIAP’s unique robotics innovation that is being commercialized. In addition to other designs, PIAP is also working on new, innovative robotics tools for operations like cleanup of oil spills. At present, Quantum is carrying out due diligence toward a definitive deal with Poland’s PIAP institution.

Quantum anticipates rapid growth as it competes along with leading robotics companies such as iRobot, AeroVironment, Honda Motor, and Apple, in future.
