Vivint, the largest home automation services company in North America, gives parents the benefit of using smart home capabilities to keep tabs on at-home kids. With the Vivint home automation package, parents can stay in the know about activities inside their homes via live video feeds accessible on their smart phones, tablets or computers.
Brooke Sergent, a new mother of 4-month-old twin boys from Telford, Tenn., uses her system to check in on her growing family. “Vivint not only helps protect my family, but it also allows my husband and me to monitor the babysitter when we are away,” Sergent said. “It gives us that extra layer of protection when we leave our children in the care of others.”
The Vivint home automation package is designed as an adaptable home management system. Using motion sensor technology, customers can receive alerts on their mobile devices when unexpected or potentially dangerous activities occur and can prioritize which areas of the home are of highest concern. Additionally, parents may control the following features on their mobile devices to simplify home and family management:
- Automated door locks
- Arm/disarm the security system
- Turn on/off home lighting and appliances
- Adjust the smart thermostat
- Receive custom alerts (i.e., unexpected activity, open doors, etc.)
Stacey Thomas, a Vivint customer from Philadelphia, Mo., uses her system to record her kids when they arrive home from school. “I love the features my Vivint home automation system provides,” Thomas said. “The camera records video clips of my kids entering the house and sends them directly to my cell phone. To know that they are safe is priceless.”
Miranda Ledgewood, a mother from Fort Worth, Texas, uses her alert system to notify her whenever the medicine cabinet under the sink is opened. “I have two kids, a preschooler who knows how to open childproof latches and one who is almost crawling,” Ledgewood said. “That’s a scary combination when it comes to harmful chemicals and prescriptions.”
Kristin Jacobs, a mother of two from Santa Maria, Calif., says her system helps reduce stress when they are away from home. “The Vivint system is so convenient. With two kids, we’re constantly coming and going. I appreciate how easily I can check my mobile phone to make sure everything is OK,” Jacobs said.
