fischertechnik STEM Lab Focuses on Mechatronics and Robotics

The current push for improved STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) recognizes that students need project-based and real world approaches to learning. One of the most valuable tools teachers can employ is a hands-on STEM program with technology education tools to help foster excitement and retention among students. Tom White has created this program to assist Middle and High Schools to bring successful STEM education to students.

Engage Students with Project-Based STEM Curriculum

Through fischertechnik and Studica, Tom created the fischertechnik STEM lab programs with education curriculum to help teachers and schools develop the highly sought after STEM skills while creating excitement among students. He designed these programs to meet Common Core Standards for Math, Reading, and Writing, the National Science Education Standards and ISTE/ITEEA standards. The fischertechnik STEM Lab can easily fill six months of class time at either the Middle or High School level. These programs, comprised of project-based learning tools and curriculum, utilize the basics of inquiry, design, and problem solving to present the material. This unique program also combines hands-on exploration and creation to engage the students in various themes covered throughout the curriculum.

The fischertechnik Middle School STEM Lab engages students to learn the concepts of Energy, Power and Robotics. This Lab includes a variety of tools including sensors, actuators, gears, a ROBO TX controller interface, power supply and more. It also includes assembly instructions, programming software, and the complete corresponding curriculum. This program offers hands-on experiments that correlate to the curriculum that focuses on power, energy and robotics.

The fischertechnik High School STEM Lab focuses on teaching Mechatronics and includes the same components from the Middle School program plus compressors and pneumatic parts. The complete curriculum includes project-based learning essentials like hands-on experiments that teachers can use to truly help students understand how mechatronics concepts work in the real world.

Educators can also purchase single STEM education kits focusing on renewable energy, physics, robotics, mechanics, and electronics to name a few which will help to enhance curriculums. Studica offers a multitude of products related to the STEM education fields which can be purchased based on an educator's specific needs to provide visual and hands-on representations for their various STEM education programs.
