Russian Army to Include Robot-Tanks

Russian scientists are working on releasing robot-tanks. These tanks are scheduled to be showcased at the 2011 International Exhibition of Military Equipment, Technologies and Ground Force Armaments, in Russia.

In the middle of the 1980s, the Soviet Union built armored vehicles without troop members by means of artificial intelligence. At present various robot models are utilized by Russia for several defense operations. Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service are deploying compact robots that can navigate under the car, detaching a bomb included on the vehicle.

Robot-Tank

Anatoly Solovev, a Military Expert, has stated that the robot-tanks feature an innovative system that can recognize the terrain and process data. He said that the new robot-tank weighing in the range between 60 kg and 70 kg can be deployed in all types of weather conditions. He mentioned that the tank will include light-weight weaponry, several information controlling and navigation systems. In addition, the robot-tank will be utilized for guarding armored vehicles and military troops ensuring effective surveillance and safety.

Further, the robot-tank includes significant electronic machinery, which is effectively safeguarded from rival jamming.

Major military powers are using robotic military hardware. Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) are also developed for inspecting and destroying rivals. The military experts have predicted that the future fighter jets’ cockpits will not include pilots and armed forces will deploy robot-tanks in the forthcoming years.
