New Book on ‘Computer Vision in Robotics and Industrial Applications’

"Human-computer interfacing has become a major scientific aspect in the design of systems and machines that are capable of performing complex and possibly even autonomous tasks," said Dominik Sankowski and Jacek Nowakowski, authors of World Scientific's latest book "Computer Vision in Robotics and Industrial Applications".

Having noted that the majority of computer vision books in the market dealt with theoretical issues, Sankowski and Nowakowski took the initiative to pool together contributions into this unique publication that highlights industrial applications, and industrial measurement applications.

Commenting on their book, the authors said, "In recent years, a strong development of practical applications of image processing and analysis is easily noticeable. Different vision systems are widely used among others in the automotive industry, pharmacy, military and police equipment, automated production and measurement systems. Without properly developed methods and algorithms, it is almost impossible to design or operate any contemporary computer based machine vision."

Along with its wide spectrum of image processing and analysis applications, this book serves as a good reference for both students and professionals.
