YIT Ehitus and Tallinn Science Park to Build Center of Mechatronics

YIT Ehitus and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol Foundation have contracted to construct the Center of Mechatronics in Tallinn, Estonia. The new building will include an office measuring 9000 square meters, lab, and Research and Development space. The value of the project is 7 million euro and is likely to be over in spring 2012.

Pirko Konsa, Member of Tehnopol board, has stated that the Center of Mechatronics focuses on developing exclusive facility to combine education, business and R&D initiatives that accelerate the global growth of the machine developing and electronics markets in Estonia. He said that the Center of Mechatronics will be constructed in Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol, near IT College and Tallinn University of Technology. He mentioned that this close proximity will enable the combination of the latest engineering talents with business initiatives. He added that the Mechatronics center will serve as a significant landmark for linking space, aeronautical and other major engineering segments.

According to Margus Poim, Chairman of YIT Ehitus, their expertise will be fully applied in building the Mechatronics center. He added that Technopol has superior concepts and favorable environment for combining science and business.
