RWDC Announces ‘Unmanned Aircraft System Challenge: Precision Agriculture’

PTC recently joined more than 45 partners to kick-off the 2013-2014 Real World Design Challenge. The theme of this year’s challenge, “Unmanned Aircraft System Challenge: Precision Agriculture,” was announced in Washington, DC. A $50,000 scholarship from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will be provided to each student on the national winning team.

And while most artificial feet and limbs do a pretty good job restoring mobility to people who have lost a leg, they have a ways to go before they equal the intricacy of a natural gait. As a result, over half of all amputees take a fall every year, compared to about one-third of people over 65.

Husky and Fuelmatics Develop Robotic Refueling System

Husky Corporation revealed a compact nozzle for use in Automatic Refueling Systems (ARS) during the 2013 PEI Convention at the NACS Show in Atlanta this week. Husky collaborated with Stockholm, Sweden based Fuelmatics Systems AB to develop this cutting edge technology for drive-through fueling systems. Hollysys Wins $51.47 Million Contract to Provide Automatic Train Protection Systems

Hollysys Automation Technologies, Ltd. ("Hollysys" or the "Company"), a leading provider of automation and control technologies and applications in China, announced today that it signed two sizable contracts to provide the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) equipment and system for the 200-250km/h and 300-350km/h high-speed trains, and contract size for each is RMB 211.17 million or USD $34.36 million, and RMB 105.17 million or USD 17.11 million respectively. The delivery of the products will be in several batches and completed by the early of 2014.

The program awards 40 individual scholarships of $1,000 each to FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) alumni pursuing undergraduate education as math, science, engineering or technology majors.
