NSF, SSR-RC and UNC Partner to Study Advanced Robotics for Homeland Security

CoroWare Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc. announced today that it has signed a membership agreement of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Safety, Security, and Rescue Research Center (SSR-RC) with the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte for cooperative research in advanced robotics for homeland security, health care, and search and rescue.

Study to Investigate Potential Uses of UAVs for Construction Applications

School of Building Construction Assistant Professor Dr. Javier Irizarry was recently awarded $74,984 from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to evaluate the potential uses of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or "Drones" for use by the transportation department for applications ranging from safety inspections, surveying, bridge inspections, and many others.
