The robotics team of Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) will participate in the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Regional robotics contest, which will be held in Salt Lake City between April 4 and 9. The students of the team are working on developing and programming their robot for the contest.
DATC’s robotics team is one among the 500 high school teams being funded by J.C. Penney. The sponsorship comes under the firm’s multiyear mission to bring the FIRST contest to around 1,100 U.S communities.
FIRST is a non-profit organization to encourage students to develop interest in science and technology and to participate in several inventive robotics contests. Dean Kamen is the founder of the organization.
