Mouser Electronics, a worldwide distributor of semiconductors and electronic components, recently declared that it has partnered with the 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) as a ‘Friends of the Future’ sponsor.
The Dallas Regional FRC will take place between March 29 and 31, 2012 at Dallas Convention Center, Dallas, Texas. This North Texas FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) programs provide an opportunity for local kids to connect with professors, local engineers, and business executives to meet the challenges in real-world engineering scenario.
The Dallas Regional includes a six-week fabrication of large-scale robot that can perform specific tasks. With this sponsorship, the regional competition will proceed, featuring 81 teams from Mexico, North Texas, and in and around the state. Considered as the largest facility, the FRC Dallas Regional competition will take place on two fields at the same time. The teams will compete anticipating several distinguished awards and will also look forward to participate in the FIRST Championship at the Missouri-based Edward Jones Dome. The audience for the event will include university and corporate mentors, parents, media, local business, government and education professionals and the students.
