Blum-Novotest to Highlight Laser, Probing and Data That Makes Lights Out Manufacturing Real at IMTS 2026

Blum-Novotest, leading supplier of innovative and high-quality measuring and testing technology, will be presenting several product highlights for the automation of machining processes at the IMTS 2026 in Chicago, IL (Booth 134710 East Building). Come by the Blum booth to learn more about LC54-DIGILOG tool for measurement and monitoring in micro-machining, which sets new standards in precision, compactness and process reliability, and MG51 multi-purpose measuring device is a compact device that is specially developed for sensor-based status assessment of clamping systems. Blum will also give an IMTS conference presentation on Sept. 16th on unattended laser and probing measurement that make lights out manufacturing real.

The highlight of this year's show is the new LC54-DIGILOG, the most compact laser measuring system in the LaserControl DIGILOG series to date. It was specially developed for tool measurement and monitoring in micro-machining, the system sets new standards in precision, compactness and process reliability. The demands on precision in micro-machining are constantly growing - especially when it comes to measuring extremely small tools. With the new LC54-DIGILOG, we have developed a system that not only meets these challenges but also sets new standards. It offers the entire range of functions of the tried-and-tested DIGILOG laser measuring systems for tools in the 5 µm to 16 mm diameter range.

Blum-Novotest will be presenting a session at the IMTS 2026 Conference called "Unattended by Design: Laser, Probing, and Data That Make Lights Out Real" on Wednesday September 16, 2026 at 9 a.m. CDT in room W192-B. Please join Blum National Sales Manager, Scott Sargent, who will demonstrate how laser measurement systems dense measurement stream boost process reliability. He will also show how visualization software provides instant actionable data for operators and engineers, and how precision probing standardizes setups in minutes. With in-process measurement, you can detect wear and breakage before it becomes scrap, correct offsets automatically, validate geometry inside the machine, achieve true "first-part-right", and ultimately run longer without an operator standing next to the machine. This isn't a dream. It's happening right now in factories that have digitized the measurement stage. "Lights out" production is truly possible.

The second solution that BLUM will present at the IMTS show is the MG81 multi-purpose measuring device. It is a compact system that integrates the transmission system and sensor technology directly into the clamping systems, so it is possible to record important process data in real time during machining. This includes the current workpiece temperature, the clamping pressure, the presence of the workpiece and the clamping jaw position. This means the machining center can access and react to the process-relevant data of the clamping device at any time."

Visit our booth in the East Building, Level 3 at 134710 for live demos on a Yamazen Brother S700 XD2. We will have laser and touch probe demonstrations with the latest software. Our technical staff will be on site to answer questions.
