Universal Robots Launches Gen 7 at IMTS 2026

The new Gen 7 platform. Gen 7 is an entirely redesigned robot platform. A major innovation is the new tool flange at the end of the robot arm, enabling the vision and sensing needed for AI models to run in real time with the robot, delivering data, power, and safety directly to the tool flange.

This new feature is what makes all the difference when you want to do i.e. AI assisted, vision-guided picking, quality inspection, or tasks with a processing tool such as screw driving, dispensing or welding, which is a very compute-heavy undertaking now possible in a straightforward approach.
