PixeLINK Releases PL-C Cameras for Machine Vision Applications

PixeLINK, a supplier of industrial cameras for machine vision and microscopy applications, has declared the launch of the PL-C series the latest generation of compact and competent cameras ideal for various industrial applications.

William Lesniowski, President of PixeLINK has stated that their new release of PL-C cameras can serve as innovative, lightweight and proficient cameras to their clients. According to him, the efficiency of PL-C family is the same when compared to the PL-A and PL-B series but in contrast to the earlier series featuring three electric boards, PL-C is more compact and versatile by reducing the number of electric boards to two. In terms of camera hardware PL-C features 33% less hardware than the current PixeLINK cameras and also the sizes of PL-C cameras are 38% to 45% lesser than the other versions thereby enabling them to be used in those industrial applications which require compact and high-end cameras consuming less power.

PL-C cameras can be powered by means of Hirose internal connectors and do not need an external source of power. These cameras can also be employed in various areas like parts analysis, metrology and biometrics by including a Firewire 1394b interface and a DCAM v1.32 support. The PL-C cameras provide a resolution of 5.0 Megapixel and can be availed in monochrome and color version. It was reported that the company will release 1.3, 2.0, 4.0 and 12 Megapixel PL-C cameras before the end of next year. The PL-C family can be easily and rapidly incorporated into the PixeLINK Software Developers Kit (SDK) with the help of API for supporting machine vision applications.
