Titan Medical has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Children’s Hospital at Boston for evaluating the Amadeus Composer.
The Amadeus Composer is a surgical system that is being developed, having an innovative external robot and flexible tools. It enables surgeons to perform surgeries in small to medium spaces. The Amadeus Maestro is a four-armed advanced robotic surgical platform that uses the Titan True Touch Technology. The robotic surgical platform integrates top technological concepts from aerospace, military and medical fields. As per the agreement the Amadeus Composer will be tested and evaluated at the Children’s Hospital and a comprehensive feedback about its performance will be provided to Titan Medical.
Using the robotic surgical platform from Titan Medical, surgeons will be able to conduct both treatment and training. As the need arises they will be able to switch between the two modes effortlessly. The platform incorporates an advanced vision system, which facilitates easy usage of the surgical equipment and other functions. Some other distinguishing features of the system are multi-articulating robotic arms and a sound communication and feedback system. The director of Robotic Surgery at the hospital commented that the use of robotic technology, such as the Amadeus Composer, takes them closer to their goal of providing quality pediatric surgical care at the hospital.
