Roper St. Francis Healthcare has emerged as the top provider of Robotic Colorectal Care in South Carolina for the year 2011. The hospital has been providing exceptional robotic colorectal surgery and post-surgical care.

More than a hundred robotic colorectal surgeries have been conducted at the hospital, these surgeries were conducted under the supervision of Jorges Lagares-Garcia. The tool enables surgeons to perform delicate and complex surgeries with improved accuracy and precision. The recovery is faster since there is minimum incision required for this kind of surgery. Apart from robotic aided surgery for colon cancer the hospital also performs gynaecological surgeries using minimally invasive surgical techniques with the da Vinci System.
