Berger Health System has chosen to upgrade its systems by installing the AutoCarousel HD from Talyst for improving the pharmacy operation. Along with the AutoCarousel HD, Berger will be implementing AutoPharm, Autopack and AutoLabel in order to bring down the medication errors and to improve the safety of the patients.

The CEO of Talyst explained that their pharmacy automation systems were focussed on providing accurate and safe systems, which help pharmacies in dispensing medication without errors and also manage the inventory efficiently. Some of the key features offered by the AutoCarousel are provision of maximum medication storage, which is stored in an organised fashion for easy access and occupies less space.
The vertical design of the automation system facilitates easy retrieval and secure storage. The system is fitted with pick-to-light indicators, which make the stocking and picking easy. The system is capable of supporting a variety of dosage forms and packages of various sizes. The storage space is reduced by as much as 50% by using the AutoCarousel HD. The time spent by the pharmacy staff on filling orders is reduced significantly and the security of dispensing medications is also enhanced. With the help of the AutoPharm3 all the activities are tracked and documented. The system provides on time indications for refilling the inventory and also organises the orders on priority, thereby avoiding delay in supply.
