Adept Launches Innovative Vision-Based Robotic Parts Feeding Solution

Adept Technology, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions announced the introduction of the Adept FlexiBowl®, an innovative vision-based robotic parts feeding solution available as an option on all Adept robot systems. The Adept FlexiBowl® utilizes circular band tracking to simplify and speed the robotic acquisition of component parts used in assembly, handling and kitting applications.

The Adept FlexiBowl(R) parts feeding system will be shown in Adept's booth 354 at Automate 2012, January 21 - 24 in Chicago IL. FlexiBowl when combined with Adept robots and vision systems is part of a complete automated flexible manufacturing system.

Adept FlexiBowl® is capable of quickly separating and orienting a wide variety of parts made from diverse materials including plastic, metal, rubber and silicone. Adept will showcase the Adept FlexiBowl® solution in its booth #354 at the Automate 2013 show January 21-24 in Chicago, Illinois.

"Unlike traditional vibratory bowl feeders, which have limited flexibility due to their high level of customization, the Adept FlexiBowl® utilizes Adept vision technology to create a truly flexible standard parts feeding solution that can be deployed and redeployed quickly eliminating the time, cost and complexity associated with traditional parts feeding," said John Dulchinos, president and chief executive officer of Adept Technology. "The Adept FlexiBowl® dramatically increases the flexibility of a robotic system opening up new applications to automation and increasing the competitiveness of manufacturers around the world."

Mr. Dulchinos will be hosting an Expert Huddle discussion on this topic at the show at 2pm at booth 208 on Monday, January 21st. The show's free Expert Huddle discussions are open to all attendees and are designed to provide attendees with the opportunity to engage in a discussion group with industry experts.

In addition to handling a wide array of parts, the Adept FlexiBowl operates reliably and quietly and is extremely easy to operate. The feeder features serial interface connections, encoder latching, and a small footprint. Benefits include quick and easy installation, throughput between 30 to 60 parts per minute and easy maintenance and cleaning.
