Mayekawa Releases Ham De-Boning Robot

Mayekawa, has launched HAMDAS-R, a robot for separating meat from a pig’s hip bone. The robot performs the de-boning work with two times the speed and same level of precision of a skilled worker, producing 500 boneless hams in an hour.

Spokesperson of the company has stated that HAMDAS-R robot is expected to transform the meat processing industry. He mentioned that previously 20 persons were required to remove 500 legs in an hour. But this r robot has enabled the performance of the same work with just 10 workers.

A Netherlands-based company is already deploying HAMDAS-R robot and it is expected that Mayekawa will automate meat-processing facilities worldwide.
