JBT Receives Automated Guided Vehicle System Contract

JBT has declared that it has obtained an Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) system contract worth $5 million for automating product movement in an integrated production and warehousing plant located in North America. This facility is the eighth consumer products plant automated by the automated guided vehicle systems of JBT.

The AGV system features various categories of vehicles that offer material dealing all through the production process including the automated supply of raw material, transporting semi-processed items to the storage area and recovery of finished products. Other than the guided vehicles, the system also features an inventory tracing software, which will be incorporated with the business process system software of the client for managing the entire production process.

John Lee, Vice President and Division Manager of JBT AeroTech, has stated that the contract was offered after a detailed assessment process, substantiating their expertise in automating customer products plants and their capacity to offer cost-efficient enhanced output in both production and warehousing applications. He added that the AGV system will be installed in multiple phases and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2012.
