Mazor Robotics declared that it has sold one more second SpineAssist robotic system to Tubingen University Hospitals in Germany to perform spinal surgeries. The size of the deal was not revealed by the company.
Tubingen University Hospitals will work together with Mazor Robotics to perform surgeries on neck vertebrae with SpineAssist robotic system. Mazor Robotics stated that the status of the Tubingen University and its hospital’s ability to perform different kind of surgeries would influence the sales of the SpineAssist robotic system in the European market.
Mazor Robotics believes that the SpineAssist robotic system can perform neck vertebrae surgeries, which are more complex and demand more accuracy. Even though the SpineAssist robotic system is commonly used for performing neck vertebrae surgeries, most of the surgeries are performed on lumbar vertebrae in the lower back.
