Flint Group Introduces Nyloflex Automated Plate Processor

Flint Group Flexographic Products has introduced its first product in a fully automated processing series for flexographic printing plates, the Nyloflex Automated Plate Processor (APP) in the first quarter of 2011.

The flexo plate making method requires effective automation in order to reduce production costs and enhance productivity. The Nyloflex APP is the best automation product to achieve these targets in the printing industry.

Nyloflex Automated Plate Processor's Schematic

The Nyloflex APP features a dryer with eight drying drawers, a round brush washer, an 8-drawer stacker, a unit for post exposure and light finishing (ultraviolet long wave (UVA)/ultraviolet short wave (UVC)). Its full capacity is up to 120 plates that equals 320 m2 per day. The APP handles plate formats with an optimum size of up to 1320 x 2032mm and plate thickness ranging from 0.7 mm to 7.0 mm. It has two brush settings for plates that include < 3 mm and > 3 mm.

Flint Group will exhibit its Nyloflex APP prototype for customers in its showroom in Stuttgart, Germany during the start of 2011. The company will install its first Nyloflex APP at a trade shop located in Central Europe.

Automation reduces process tolerances and errors for printers and trade shops, which in turn significantly reduces downtime expenditures and claim rates. It also enhances print and plate quality.
