“As businesses and homeowners increasingly adopt video surveillance technology to ensure the physical security of their properties and people, the need for solutions that can be easily deployed and integrated into existing network infrastructures is growing,” explained Eddie Lee, Product Line Manager at EnGenius. “Our new line of Photon Series IP cameras integrates seamlessly with our growing family of access points and switches making it quick and easy to deploy a business-class video surveillance network over a high-speed, long range wireless network.”

Constant Vigilance Enhances Peace-of-Mind

The Photon Series IP cameras can capture 1280 x 720p HD JPEG images or record H.264/MPEG-4 and motion JPEG video clips at 30 frames per second to document insurance claims or provide video evidence. Images captured by the cameras can be sent through the network to a hard drive or NAS, while the EDS6115 provides the additional option of storing content locally on a micro SD/SDHC memory card.

The cameras, which can be viewed from mobile devices using the free EnViewer mobile app for iOS and Android-based devices, feature simultaneous dual-stream capabilities that save bandwidth and reduce storage space while allowing for remote monitoring and recording via separate streams. The included 16-channel Video Management Software (VMS) allows real-time monitoring of up to 16 camera streams and makes it easy to record, playback and search archived video.

The Photon cameras provide motion detection capabilities, which can be set to automatically begin recording the covered area when triggered and can send alerts directly to a smartphone or tablet via push notifications through the EnViewer mobile app. The EDS6115 features a built-in microphone to add audio detection capability, and the EDS5115 and EDS5110 can support this function through the use of an external microphone (not included).
