Rethink Robotics, the industry pioneer in collaborative robots, today shines in the 2016 China International Robot Show (CIROS) as its Sawyer robot is one of the winners of the Golden Finger Awards at the highly anticipated robot trade event.
Sawyer will be recognized as a pioneering application of collaborative robots in manufacturing and will be presented with the award for “Best Industrial Robot 2016’ in the CIROS Golden Finger Awards.
Rethink Robotics, together with its distributor Shanghai Electrical Automation Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. (SEARI), are showcasing Sawyer at CIROS, currently staged at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from July 6 to 9, 2016. CIROS, organized by China Machinery Industry Federation and China Robot Industry Alliance, is perceived as one of the most popular robot trade shows in eastern China. The booth of Rethink Robotics/SEARI (No. #F015) is located at Hall 3 of the center.
The highlight of the Rethink Robotics/SEARI booth will be the award-winning Sawyer, the revolutionary new high performance collaborative robot designed for machine tending, circuit board testing and other precise tasks that are not practical to automate with traditional industrial robots.
“China is spearheading a new round of efforts in reforming its economy in which ‘Made in China 2025’ is one of its most important initiatives. Robotic technology will play a pivotal role in transforming the country’s manufacturing sector. Sawyer of Rethink Robotics does a great job in paving the path of applying collaborative robots in manufacturing,” said the spokesperson of Golden Finger Awards.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from CIROS. Sawyer is a high-performance collaborative robot designed to execute machine tending, circuit board testing and other precise tasks that are impractical to automate with conventional robots. Sawyer also can work precisely in many environments alongside humans with its compliant motion control. We believe Sawyer surely can make contributions to China’s manufacturing sector and help it soar to new heights,” said Alan Lee, Managing Director – Asia Pacific of Rethink Robotics.
