NASA Issues RFI to Understand Current Industry Plans for Robotic Lunar Landing Capability

NASA Tuesday issued a Request for Information (RFI) that will help agency officials better understand current plans in the U.S. commercial space industry for a robotic lunar landing capability. The RFI will assist NASA in assessing U.S. industry's interest in partnerships to develop a robotic lander that could enable commercial and agency missions.

GE to Expand Artificial Lift Capabilities with Lufkin Industries Acquisition

GE and Lufkin Industries Inc. announced today a joint agreement whereby GE will acquire Lufkin Industries Inc., a leading provider of artificial lift technologies for the oil and gas industry and a manufacturer of industrial gears, for approximately $3.3 billion. Lufkin shareholders will receive $88.50 per share in cash for each of their Lufkin shares.

Health Robotics Announces Release of American "Live" Drug Database for IV Automation

In the wake of troubling and widespread events within the pharmacy outsourcing industry in the United States, Health Robotics recently decided to release to the pharmacy community at large, its North American Database of 330 supported and "Live" drug vials for automated sterile compounding, corresponding to 134 active pharmaceutical ingredients, including supported drug brands, available vial sizes, and drug vial concentrations from 58 drug manufacturers.

Raytheon to Develop Cross-Domain Surveillance System to Safeguard Forward Deployed Forces

Raytheon Company was awarded a contract with the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to build an integrated multi-INT system to safeguard forward deployed forces. The Persistent Surveillance System Cross Domain Solution (PSS CDS) gives warfighters an advantage by providing a complete picture of impending threats, from both classified and unclassified sources. The contract was awarded in Raytheon's second quarter of 2013.
