Mumbai Hospital Acquires Advanced Robotic Surgery Device

The Asian Vattikuti Institute of Robotic Surgery and the Asian Heart Institute have acquired the most advanced surgical robot in Asia at the cost of $2.5 million. The first robot-assisted surgery will be conducted within the month. Robotic arm assisted surgeries are minimally invasive and said to have better results than conventional surgeries.

Allegheny General Hospital Performs Region's First Robotic-Assisted Live Kidney Donor Transplant

A live donor kidney transplant was performed by surgeons in the Allegheny General Hospital assisted by a robotic surgeon arm. The altruistic kidney donor from western Pennsylvania was said to be recovering well after the minimally invasive kidney removal surgery.

OC Robotics has signed a new contract with Sellafied Ltd to provide a snake arm robot capability demonstration. This will include two snake arms deployed using the OC Robotics’ Rail&Rotate platform. The two will be variants of the OC Robotics Explorer Range. Each arm will have 22° of freedom, will measure 2.5m long and 100mm in diameter, and will be remotely operated by joystick.
