Sysmex Offers Automated Hematology Solutions for LabCorp

Sysmex America Inc, a global provider of automated solutions for clinical laboratories, has declared its five year contract with Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp) for delivering hematology automation systems for the leading testing labs of LabCorp. It was reported that Sysmex has completed the installation of these automated systems.

John Kershaw, President & Chief Executive Officer, Sysmex America expressed his pleasure over partnering with LabCorp for supplying the innovative diagnosis systems. He added that their novel automated solutions will offer an unmatched level of enhanced performance, thereby assuring quality and improved service of the LabCorp’s laboratories.

The hematology automation systems procured by LabCorp clinical laboratories include Sysmex-distributed CellaVision DM96 automated digital cell morphology systems, Sysmex SP-1000i automated Slidemaker/Stainers and Sysmex HST-N hematology automation systems containing the XE-series of automated hematology analyzers. Sysmex WAM decision support software provides instruction-based skill to the automated systems by combining information obtained from various systems and executing guidelines-based operations, thereby resulting in effective management. The AutoSorter II found in the HST-N systems is connected by Motoman, Inc. The Sysmex's RU-10 reagent production system used by the HST-N automation systems helps in the local production of the desired analyzer reagents when required, thereby helping to overcome the storage space constraints and also in inventory management.
