HE Robot Introduced for Wet and Humid Environments

Stäubli Robotics has launched the new and much improved six-axis robot series consisting of the TX90, TX60 and the TX40.

These anti corrosive HE robot models provide much more resistance to moderately oxidizing, basic or acidic environments. This series have been developed for applications, wherein the robot has to face high humidity along with various liquids such as cleaning solvents, water, cooling liquids and detergents. These robots are perfect for usage in metal processing, machine tools, water jet cutting, high pressure washing and also in food processing solutions.

The wrist structure is IP67 while the enclosed arm structure is IP65, which would allow resistance to corrosion and low pressure immersion. Flange and other vital components are made up of stainless steel. Before the painting of the robotic arm and the final assembly process, all the surfaces are treated to get a higher scratch resistance and better anti- corrosive behavior. Its specialized lip seals along with a pressurization unit that supplies positive pressure within the arm, which would further improve the resistance to the problem of moisture intrusion faced by the arm. The mounting holes and interconnection cables are attached under the arm, providing an ideal seal covering the base of the arm and securing all the connections, while eradicating contamination collection regions.

According to David Arceneaux, the Operations Manager at Stäubli Robotics USA, the company’s focus has always been on developing the most complete and advanced robotic systems globally. It is totally committed to achieving the best standards while supplying cost-effective and dependable robotic applications.
