Forum Subsea Technologies has entered into a sales agreement with MRTS of Russia.
Work class ROV
The agreement requires Forum to deliver two Perry XLX remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) which will be used in laying pipes offshore. This is the first Russian venture for Forum Subsea Technologies. The ROVs are expected to be delivered in April 2012.
The XLX ROV qualifies as a work class ROV, which is capable of producing power up to 150 to 250 HP. The ROV can be used for a wide range of subsea applications such as pipe burial inspections, tooling intervention and construction work under the sea. It can be adapted to different applications with the help of flexible equipment. The ROV will be installed onboard the ‘Kendrick’ vessel of MRTS along with a saturation diving system. MRTS has purchased an ROV for the first time and intends to use it for pipe inspection and pipe laying. Fertoing, a survey partner of MRTS, will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the ROV. The Perry ROVs are the most advanced designs in the category and can be used along with a variety of survey and tooling equipment present at the new facility of Forum in the UK. Apart from ROVs, Forum delivers large work-class vehicles which can be used for inspection, construction in deep seas and other remote services.
