Health Robotics to Introduce Auxiliary Mini Robot for i.v.STATIONs at ASHP Meet

Health Robotics has announced that it will launch a new fully automatic auxiliary mini robot designed for sterile compounding auxiliary jobs and Monoclonal Antibodies at the 46^th Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), which will be held in New Orleans, USA from 4 to 8 December 2011.

The new auxiliary robot will have the capacity to reduce wastage of drug vials and also reduce the side effects in patients arising from errors in reconstitution of powders and gels.

The robot, which uses parallel and dual robotic-arm-processing will further enhance the speed of the company’s current products, i.v.STATION and i.v.STATION ONCO. The 1^st generation Cytocare robot from Health Robotics carries out sterile compounding tasks that are semi automated at slow speeds and is large in weight and size. However the 2^nd generation i.v.STATION and i.v.STATION ONCO are fully automated and are 3 to 4 times faster than Cytocare. They can be installed through plug stations in existing rooms, involve lesser costs and can provide return on investment within a year of operation. Health Robotics has more than 50 oncology robots operating live. Particularly the i.v.STATION robots and Cytocare are used by around 91 drug manufacturers located across the globe.
