ADTI, AeroSpy Partner to Integrate UAVs into Civilian Airspace

Advanced Defense Technologies (ADTI), a provider of systems and technologies for homeland security, industry and military defense projects, and AeroSpy, a supplier of technology for mobile robotics, motion tracking and navigation, have entered into a joint venture to develop and commercialize sense and avoid technologies for UAVs.

The technology is a Sense & Avoid System that has received full certification. The system enables mission specific UAVs to be integrated into civilian airspace.

The global alliance between the two companies will include combining AeroSpy's Sense and Avoid technology and ADTI’s phased array antenna technology. AeroSpy's Sense and Avoid autopilot and prototype are to be integrated with ADTI's superior UAV technology that can be customized according to the requirements of customers. This integrated system will be demonstrated to potential customers.

A system that has the capability to avoid traffic is necessary for integrating the UAVs into civil airspace.

ADTI’s President and CEO, R.S. Tahim expressed the company’s commitment in the partnership with AeroSpy. The joint venture aligns the strategic direction of both the companies. New clients and customers will be able to gain from the combined potential of the two companies. The integrated system will enable application of UAVs in military, border and coastal surveillance, meteorological, municipal, oil and gas, agriculture and forestry fields.
