Aldebaran Robotics Demonstrates Latest Humanoid

Aldebaran Robotics, a humanoid robot manufacturer located in Paris, has demonstrated its latest version of a humanoid robot called Nao Robot at the IEEE Humanoids conference conducted in December 2010.

Aldebaran's Latest Nao Robot

The new version of Nao Robot has a stronger body, a more sophisticated motion engine, lengthier hands and a new head with enhanced Wi-Fi communications, temperature control and audio output and input.

The new robot has advanced software for Noise localization, voice identification, whole body motion controls, face and picture detection. The humanoid robot is trained to detect objects such as book covers and photographs. Its fall manager feature protects the robot during the fall by positioning the legs and arms in a defensive posture.

Aldebaran Robotics’ first robot was the Nao Robot. It is employed by  firms and universities in 30 countries and has participated in the RoboCup competition. The company has marketed about 1,065 units of Nao Robots.. The robot is considered as a more adjustable and dependable robotics research platform. The company has plans to introduce its adult-size humanoid called Romeo during 2011. The Romeo is developed to assist older and physically challenged persons with daily tasks.
