CIIF 2015: Delta Introduces Vertical Multi-Joint Robot

Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, showcased solutions under the theme, "Smarter Solution, Better Tomorrow" at the 2015 China International Industry Fair (CIIF), debuting the brand-new vertical multi-joint robot DRV90L Series.

Together with the SCARA DRS60L Series that were also displayed, the robot solutions achieve highly fast and precise control, improving daily productivity by three times for the electronics, packaging, and material industries. Other solutions presented at the CIIF included an industry intelligent monitoring system that is widely applied in energy generation and management, smart factory and data center, iPEMS (Intelligent Process & Management System), and Delta Energy Online. With these energy-saving solutions featuring Big Data visualization, Delta is well poised to help realize the vision of the "China Manufacturing 2025" plan, and the "green" upgrade of intelligent manufacturing.

Delta Chairman Yancey Hai said: "A smart factory of high efficiency, low cost, and low energy consumption has become the goal for all manufacturers. Delta, on the back of our advantages in innovation, energy savings, and green technology, brings more driving force to the development of intelligent industry and green manufacturing. For example, following the debut of our in-house SCARA industrial robot at last year's CIIF, we are introducing three more industrial robot solutions. The vertical multi-joint robot DRV90L Series, in particular, achieves multi-angle insertion, providing high flexibility, precision, and speed."

Simon Zhang, Delta Senior V.P. and IA Business Group General Manager, said: "To stay abreast of the intelligent industry trend, Delta provides a complete set of intelligent manufacturing solutions aligned to customer's needs. The industrial robot plays a vital role in smart manufacturing, and light industry is expected to take the lead in the implementation of intelligent manufacturing. Delta is showcasing three robot solutions that belong to the lightweight category and industry intelligent monitoring system that includes monitoring system SCADA DIAView and energy management system DIAEnergie IEMS, helping customers realize intelligent management. With its remote monitoring and control capabilities over the operation and equipment on a production site, the computer-based automatic system for manufacturing process control and adjustment creates a real-time, automatic, safe and intelligent information system, effectively helping users make sound decisions."

Delta Greentech (China) Vice Chairman Jimmy Yin said: "In addition to creating highly efficient products and integrated solutions, Delta also provides comprehensive management systems and platforms, helping customers realize intelligent manufacturing and green fabrication. At this year's CIIF, Delta will showcase a total of four systems, 12 solutions, and 32 products, in the hope of collaborating with various partners to create a platform for green development. Intelligent computing-based Delta Energy Online, in particular, effectively realizes an enterprise-grade energy management system to control scattered operation sites by ways of analysis of energy use, dynamic forecast of demands, and intelligent control."

The highlight of Delta's showcase included:

Delta Robot DRV90L Series: A highly flexible solution, it achieves design optimization on various applications, including insertion, assembly, screw driving, glue dispensing, soldering, loading and unloading, inspection, staking, and packaging for electrical/electronics, rubber and plastics, metal fabrication, machinery manufacturing and other industries.

Delta Robot DRS60L Series: It provides a fast, precise, and stable solution thanks to constant system optimization. It efficiently accomplishes various tasks, such as gluing dispensing, soldering, loading and unloading, and inspection for electrical / electronics, consumer electronics, and other industries.

Delta Robot DRS40L Series: It adopts an external 5th axis to achieve multi-angle soldering on non-planar PC boards and is able to conduct rapid changeover on production lines with standard fixtures. It is able to undertake tasks such as assembly, screw driving, glue dispensing, deburring and edging, soldering, and inspection for the electrical/electronics, rubber and plastic, metal fabrication and other industries.

1.6mm pixel pitch LED display: Equipped with a LED luminotron that offers high luminous efficiency, it utilizes pixel-level point control, fast refreshing, and gray control technologies to make equipment performance monitoring possible. Offering high clarity and natural balanced image, it is suitable for special applications such as medical displays and virtual reality.

Delta Energy Online: The IP date-based solution, adopting a distributed architecture for data collection, can be expanded into a global system from a single site. It gathers energy data of buildings and facilities from scattered sites and turns it into useful information for management and analysis. Through a physical and virtual I/O calculation tool, automatic analysis, and energy-saving indication calculator, it identifies potential areas for energy savings, carries out energy-saving strategy and achieves energy savings up to 30%.

iPEMS: It consists of two subsystems - data processing and distributed display. The data processing subsystem incorporates such functions as, data sensing and transmission, distributed data storage, Big Data analysis, and data visualization. The distributed display subsystem includes a display controller, stitched display wall, and display management software. Thanks to such technologies as real-time simulation/digital data acquisition, networked data transmission, massive data storage, intelligent Big Data mining and analysis, data visualization of ultra-high resolution, the solution delivers massive visualized data for real-time decision-making and process control. It is suitable for various industries, including energy generation and management, smart factory, data center, environment control, petrochemical, intelligent grid, intelligent traffic, and telecommunications.
