Robot Soldiers Steel Show at Land Warfare Conference

As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Land Warfare Conference in Brisbane, looked like a scene of a cutting edge armoury being readied for battle. What with a cache of varied grenades, tanks and the latest devices used in the battleground of modern war. Also on display were fake eyeballs, limbs and injured bodies that pump fake blood through fake veins in order to help train soldiers in emergency first aid.

German Space Robotic Arm Completes 5 Year Mission

The first German space robotics experiment ended on 15 Nov 2010. The Rokviss robotic arm developed by the German Aerospace Centre was removed by Russian cosmonauts Fyodor Yurichikhin and Oleg Skripochka during a space walk. It had been attached to the experimental platform on the Russian service module Svezda.

LEGO Robotics Challenge

Groups of middle school students from Northwest Georgia competed in a FIRST Lego League Robotics Tournament conducted Saturday at Darlington Middle School. The competition is part of FIRST, a not-for-profit organization founded to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology.

Researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology, presented ‘Cody’ a robot to assist medical staff . It can sponge bath patients. The Georgia Tech team presented a paper on its assistive robot at the 2010 International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2010) last month.
