NSF Awards Grant to Establish Engineering Research Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering

An $18.5 million grant has been awarded by the National Science Foundation for establishment of a new Engineering Research Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering at the University of Washington (UW). Researchers at the centre will develop "neurobotics", which is development of robotic replacement limbs that can be controlled with the mind.

Kessler Rehabilitation Center Introduces Robotic Gait Training System

Kessler Foundation became the first Rehabilitation Center to introduce the Robotic Gait Training System using the LokomatPro V6 in the U.S. It is a sophisticated robotic training system, which is designed to improve mobility in people suffering from spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury or multiple sclerosis disease and whose movements have been restrained.

Carnegie Mellon University Develops Multi-Robot for LEGO MINDSTORMS

The Robotics Academy at the Carnegie Mellon University has developed a new multi-robot for the LEGO MINDSTORMS system. The new system makes use of NXTBee, which is an X-bee- based radio system used by Lego Mindstorms manufactured by Dexter Industries.
