Canadian Government Supports Development of Unmanned Aerial System Center of Excellence at Alma Airport

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, today announced that Aéroport d'Alma has been granted financial assistance to build the infrastructure needed to group all of the activities of the Unmanned Aerial System Center of Excellence under one roof.

Temple Engineering Graduates to Attend NASA Robotics Program

As sophomores, engineering students Vadim Linevich and Andrew Powell both became involved in the NASA-funded Student Space Exploration and Environmental Systems Laboratory (SSEESL) in Temple’s College of Engineering. Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces to Use Insitu Pacific’s ScanEagle UAS

Geologists Map New Oil Reserves Using Drones

Geologists have long used seismology on the bottom of the ocean or have been throwing dynamite from snowmobiles when they look for oil. But now researchers at Centre for integrated petroleum research (CIPR), a joint venture between the University of Bergen (UiB) and Uni Research, have found a new preferred method – using drones to map new oil reserves from the air.
