C-STEM Day Conference Promotes Robotics in Education

Astrobotic Technology Secures NASA Contract for Lunar Expedition

Astrobotic Technology has received a NASA contract to validate the efficiency of its polar rover in deploying ice-prospecting payloads for lunar expedition. Space exploration can be made cost-effective as ice generates methane, water, oxygen, and rocket propellant.

Northrop Grumman Foundation Supports VEX Robotics Competition through Sponsorship

VEX Robotics Competition World Championship 2012, taking place from April 19 to 21, includes over 10,000 participants from middle and high school, university students, mentors and educators from almost 20 countries. Indiana to Host the 2012 National Robotics League Championships

National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) recently declared that Indiana will once again host the 2012 National Robotics League (NRL) Championships, which is scheduled between May 5 and 6, 2012, at the Circle Centre Mall in Indianapolis.

AeroVironment Achieves Contract from U.S. Army for RQ-20A Puma AE Small UAS

AeroVironment recently declared that it has been presented with a fixed-price order from the U.S. Army, on March 27, 2012. The contract is to deliver AeroVironment RQ-20A Puma AE small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), worth $20,430,433 to the U.S. army, within 30 days.

U.S. Marine Corps to Receive Four Different AeroVironment Small UAS

AeroVironment recently declared that it will supply four of the company’s small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to the U.S. Marine Corps. Based on an existing U.S. Army contract, the company received the fixed-price order worth $5,558,479 for its RQ-20A Puma AE.

Wilkes University has recently opened northeast Pennsylvania’s unique Metro Surgical Robotics Laboratory. It offers practical training in robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgical procedures for biomedical and engineering students. The lab’s inauguration took place on April 19.
