Swisslog Enters into Partnership with JBT for Automated Guided Vehicles

Swisslog and JBT Partnership have entered into a partnership agreement for the manufacture of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to be used in hospitals. Both the companies will develop and market the AGVs from 2013.

While JBT Partnership will develop the AGVs with the latest software, Swisslog will contribute with its sales and service network and its huge customer base.

According to Karl Puhringer who is the Head of Healthcare Solutions division for Swisslog, the partnership will further strengthen the positions of both the companies as logistics solutions provider for hospitals. JBT Partnership provides solutions particularly for transportation and food processing industries across the world. The company takes up designing, manufacturing, testing and servicing of advanced systems and products. The company employs around 3,300 people all over the world. Swisslog provides integrated logistical solutions for hospitals, warehouses and distribution centres. The solutions provided by the company help in optimising distribution, logistics and production for its customers in order to enhance quality and flexibility and minimising costs. The company is headquartered in Switzerland and employs 2000 staff across 20 countries in the world. Swisslog is a wholly owned company of Swisslog Holding.
