Informatica 2011 Event to Include Automation Systems

Informatica 2011, the 14th International Fair and Convention on Informatics, is scheduled to be held at Havana between February 7 and 11. The event will be attended by representatives from around 20 nations.

Dr. Jorge Luis Perdomo, Deputy Minister of Informatics and Communications and President of the Event’s Organizing Committee, has stated that the event will enable the participants to share their experiences with experts from every sector, government and global organizations.

The fair will be held at Havana’s Convention Center as well as at the Pabexpo exhibition hall under “Converging Technologies: Integration and Independence” as its slogan. The event will enable the promotion of significant scientific progress and major discoveries in several areas like automation, electronic systems, medical devices, information technology and telecommunications in the Cuban and in global segments.

The event’s Scientific Committee has obtained and assessed 1,684 scientific papers and among which 198 were forwarded by authors from foreign nations like Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama, Uruguay, Turkey, Australia, Hungary, China, Bangladesh, Angola, Germany, Canada, Russia and El Salvador.

Several global events like International Symposium on Telecommunications and Tenth Iberoamerican Seminar on Information Technologies Security will be held concurrently with Informatics 2011. The fair will include projects, resources, services and products of automation, electronics, informatics and medical devices.

Funding for this event is offered by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Cuban Ministry of Informatics and Communications, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
