Hollysys Signs Contract to Provide Proprietary Distributed Control System to Shenhua Jiujiang Power Plant

Hollysys Automation Technologies, Ltd. ("Hollysys" or the "Company"), a leading provider of automation and control technologies and applications in China, announced today that it has signed a contract to provide its proprietary Distributed Control System ("DCS") for 2x1052MW ultra-supercritical coal-fire power generating units to Shenhua Jiujiang Power Plant. The units are expected to go into operation at beginning of the year 2017.

New Robotic Arm Could Support Daily Activities of Patients Suffering Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Researchers from the MIRA research centre, together with the VUmc, TU Delft and the Radboud umc, have developed the A-Gear: a robotic arm that can support the daily activities of people suffering the muscular disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They recently put the final touches to the first prototype for a discreet, body-connected support aid that can be worn under the clothing and that can support independent operation of the arm during important daily activities.

Students from Four States Compete in Texas BEST Regional Robotics Championship

UT Dallas recently hosted the BEST Regional Championship for Robotics at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. More than 3,200 students from four states competed to see which robot design could best extract five natural resources — coal, iron, aluminum, copper and lithium — from a pretend mine.
