Adept Technology declared that it will showcase its new Autonomous Indoor Vehicles (AIVs) that enables automated-transport of SMIF pods during the SEMICON West 2012 show. This industrial event is being held between July 10 and 12 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Two Adept transporters will interact with show attendees.

Almost anything that can be made with paper, paint and cardboard can be animated with an educational robotics kit developed at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. No technical experience is necessary to use the kit, but classroom teachers say it fosters interest in technology among students ages 11 and up.
AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems, a Textron company, recently declared that it has been presented with a $358 M worth engineering support and system upgrades award from the U.S. Army’s Program Manager UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) to provide system upgrades and engineering support in order to develop a fleet of 45 upgraded RQ-7B Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (TUAS). Supply of 43 systems for the Army and two for the Marine Corps is likely to start by 2013 end.
